For over 25 years, the authors, Gwen & Harry Mirijanian,  have been visiting Maui to watch the majesty of the 10,000 humpback whales that return every year.  After sharing their experiences with their own family, they wrote “Ori the Whale” from the perspective of one mother humpback whale that they have seen every year.
